FROM THE LINE OF FIRE TO A CAREER PATH

ReBoot Camp accelerates the transition from the military to a purpose-filled career for returning veterans.

We know how to solve problems. It’s our great pleasure to offer our skills to people who return from serving our Country and want to reconnect to civilian life in a way that honors their service and their need to serve. None of you should come home to a dead end job.

This is my Uncle Harold – WWII Army Airborne – part of my inspiration. He was thought dead at the Battle of the Bulge. He surprised them when they returned after having to retreat. They were still taking shrapnel out of him in his 80s.

When Harold came home, he married an RAF Combat Photographer – Audrey. Being a Combat Photographer meant she was under the belly of the plane with the Turret Gunner. In spite of mutual PTSD, they lived a long and purpose-filled life and had two wonderful children. Harold and Audrey survived and thrived.  You can, too. You’re part of a legacy that continues to serve after service. Let’s find your purpose-filled career path.

Another part of my inspiration is the Veterans I have known and worked with since high school.  Veterans have not always had a welcoming homecoming. Most people do not know that it was not only Vietnam Veterans who were treated badly. Veterans returning from efforts to save lives in Somalia were spat on and called baby killers. The heroes parades seem to be a thing of the past. We have “Welcome Home Events” in communities now but, when the party is over, it can be hard for you to reconnect. We want to smooth the transition for as many Veterans as we can.

TESTIMONIALS

A selection of input from Veterans who have been part of ReBoot Camp:

“I am a Marine Corps Veteran that served with First Battalion First Marines and First Reconnaisance Battalion from 1990 to 1994 at Camp Pendleton CA. I deployed for Operations Desert Shield/Storm, West Pac 1992, and West Pac 1993/94. During West Pac 1993/94 my MEU-SOC was assigned to Operations Continue Hope, Show Care and More Care in Somalia. The highest rank I achieved was Corporal. I first contacted ReBoot Camp October 15, 2009 for career coaching. I have never known anyone who is more knowledgeable about resume writing and the employment process in general. I highly recommend.”
Dan Longnecker, USMC

“I was able to build an effective network and market myself and my skill set to the technology world. Large parts of my present success can be directly attributed to the advice, coaching and mentoring I received.”
Steve Sanchez, Combat Engineer, US Army

“After 21+ years in the Marine Corps, I had never had to “sell” myself to a future employer. Relentless patience & guidance helped me produce a master resume of which we are proud. Service is completely free to transitioning veterans. I highly recommend & whole heartedly endorse the much needed service to veterans.”
Hyacinth McNevin, Chief Warrant Officer, USMC

“I was searching for work after getting out of the Army in 1994. This helped me “civilianize” my resume explaining that for corporate America, “company executive officer” meant something completely different from its military title.”
Dwight Weese, Army Veteran

“I am extremely grateful for everything that you have done for me. I can’t thank you enough. You have given me your time and more help than any other job seeking service and I will always remember & appreciate that.”
Jeff DiLandro, Coast Guard Veteran

“Your philosophy of job searching was correct. I know of a firm here in San Antonio, that cost people hundreds of dollars for the same thing you did for me. Since launching the resumes to the Internet, I had one job fair and four interviews a week until I settled on the one company that I thought would meet my family’s needs and have an acceptable work schedule. God bless.”
CH Buell, US Army Reserve Chaplain

“I just wanted to follow up and let you know how much I really appreciate what you did for me. Since you assisted me, I have landed two job interviews! That’s two more than the six months I tried before you came along. Thanks again.”
Joe Daigle, Information Management Specialist, United States Marine Corps
